Resume. Despite the successes in the use of restoration materials and the continuous improvement of direct and indirect restoration techniques, the number of unsatisfactory results is still considerable. Since dentists make mistakes at various stages of treatment when performing restorations, the problem of improving the methods of restoration of hard teeth tissues occupies one of the leading places among the current problems of modern dentistry.
The aim. To study and analyze the complications that occur in patients after dental treatment of defects of hard tissues of teeth.
Materials and methods. We studed 80 patients. The first group consisted of 40 patients, who, according to traditional indications and treatment protocols, were shown direct restoration; the second group consisted of 40 patients who were shown indirect restoration. Clinical examinations of patients were performed according to classic methods. Restorations were examined using the USPHS method.
Results. It is confirmed that mistakes in the stage of choosing the method of treatment of defects of hard tissues of teeth lead to clinical situations with unfavorable prognosis for such teeth, even to their loss.
Conclusion. Our studies allow us to state that mistakes in the stage of choosing the method of treatment of defects of hard tissues of teeth lead to clinical situations with an unfavorable prognosis for such teeth until their loss.
