Review of complaints regarding violations of academic integrity and publication ethics
The editorial board of the journal Actual Dentistry adheres to international standards of academic integrity and follows the principles of COPE Core Practices (Committee on Publication Ethics). We consider all submissions regarding violations of publication ethics from authors, reviewers, and readers according to the following procedure:
Submission of a Complaint
Complaints are accepted in written form via the official editorial email address med_expert@ukr.net. The complainant must provide clear evidence of the violation (links to sources, text comparisons, etc.). Anonymous submissions are considered if sufficient substantiated information is provided.
Preliminary Review
The Editor-in-Chief or the responsible editor conducts an initial check within 7 working days.
Investigation
If signs of violation are identified, a commission is formed from members of the editorial board and, if necessary, independent experts. The editorial office may also contact the institution where the authors are employed. Editorial board members with a potential conflict of interest regarding the complaint are not involved in its consideration. We guarantee objectivity and confidentiality at all stages of the investigation.
Decision
Based on the results of the investigation, the editorial office may decide to:
- Reject the complaint due to lack of evidence.
- Allow authors to correct technical errors or publish a correction notice.
- Refuse publication or retract an already published article.
- Impose a temporary or permanent ban on authors publishing in the journal.
Notification and Appeal
The editorial office informs all parties in writing about the decision taken. Authors have the right to appeal the editorial decision by providing additional arguments within 14 days after receiving the notification.
Data Retention
All investigation materials and official correspondence are stored by the editorial office for 3 years.
