Background choice of antibiotic therapy in complex treatment of patients with generalized parodontitis

Goal. Justify the use of Dentagel in the treatment of young patients with generalized periodontitis and to evaluate its effectiveness.
Materials and methods. A clinical and laboratory examination of 30 patients aged 19–30 years diagnosed with generalized periodontitis incipient–I grade and
symptomatic catarrhal gingivitis. Patients of both groups performed equally professional oral hygiene and using the same hygienic facilities. Group first patients
only used the gel for gums «Dentagel» and 2-d group of patients used the «Herbal gel» (Lacalut).
Results. After 7 days of application medicanzet complexcs in the hygienic status of patients in both groups improved by 2.3 times and rated as «satisfactory».
By the end of 2 weeks hygienic level has improved by 32 (group 1) and 25 % (group 2). After 7 days in 1 group level of inflammation decreased by 65 %, and
in 2-d group at 45 %. By the end of treatment inflammation intensity of gum in 1 group has reached a level that did not require additional surgery, and 2 group
pointed to the PMA index of anti-inflammatory therapy. A month after treatment the RBI index in group 1 improved by 77.5 % and in 2-d group with 60 %. Microscopic
examination of the periodontal pockets contents marked reduction of pathological forms of microorganisms. In 1 group of patients achieved positive results
rather than in group 2.
Conclusion. Usage of gel «Dentagel» in the treatment of young patients with generalized periodontitis has been effective, as evidenced by positive both clinical
and laboratory data, and a positive outcome was achieved in less short term. Thus, applying the gel «Dentagel» is recommeded in the treatment of generalized
periodontitis in young people, and on the stages of maintenance therapy.
