Abstract

Neurodentistry is a science that deals with the lesions of various parts of the nervous system (central and peripheral) and their symptoms in the oral cavity. Sometimes, it is too difficult to recognize these diseases, even for experienced professionals. The article is based on extensive clinical material, including the authors’ experience and domestic and foreign literature data.

We have already considered the issue of neurodental diseases and syndromes in the cranial nerves and autonomic nervous system. In this work, we set out to consider dental symptoms and syndromes in nervous system diseases.

Material and methods of the study. We examined and treated 270 patients in neurological, dental, and cardiological clinics. 170 women and 100 men aged 30 to 74, of various professions. A clinical examination was performed (by a cardiologist, dentist, or neurologist), laboratory methods (complete blood count, C-reactive protein, biochemical blood tests, blood sugar, etc.), and neuroimaging methods (CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound). A comparative characteristic and statistical processing of the study were performed.
